The Ladybird Project at Mansbridge

mansbridge schoolRadian has worked closely alongside Mansbridge Primary school to encourage the young people to take a look at the wildlife in Mansbridge.

In the summer pupils aged 9 – 10 took a walk around Mansbridge with a local photographer, Radian and the police. The children learnt about wildlife on their doorstep and even got to hold slow worms. After the nature walk, the children went back to the classroom to dry off and draw their own wildlife pictures.

The pictures were displayed in the Mansbridge community room and residents were invited to come in and vote for their favourite picture.

The winning picture was a beautiful insect picture drawn by Lewis Dowland who won a digital camera. Donna Dowland, Lewis’ mum said ‘That was a great prize and Lewis is really made up with it’.  Well done Lewis.
