Residents were invited to a consultation evening on Wednesday 21st April to choose promotional items for Swaythling Housing Society.
Promotional items such as tea towels, bags and storage devices will be given out to other residents at community events during the summer. All these items are designed and made by Swaythling Housing Society residents.
The consultation was in the Recycle and Sew studios where Swaythling Housing Society has worked with residents and a local recycle and sew company to form a small business making and selling promotional items to local businesses. Residents have learnt new skills in marketing, business and sewing to skill them in the work place and also to enable them to use these skills in the home.
Other residents from outside the group were consulted to make decisions on value for money, material and design. They were asked to give feedback on what items would be most useful to residents, how the product could be better value for money and on which items they would like to spend the promotional budget for this year.
