Recycle And Sew Workshops
In May 2009, residents took part in a successful recycle and sew workshop. They brought along clothes that needed fixing or a new lease of life.
The workshop organised by Swaythling at Leslie Loader Court in Eastleigh gave an introduction to sewing and recycling clothes and soft furnishings. Experts from YZER recycle and sew company were on hand to give advice on alterations and repairs, and show how to use the sewing machines.
As well as making home furnishings and fixing and altering clothes such as jeans and cardigans, it proved a social event with residents chatting and getting to know each other.
We plan to hold more recycle and sew workshops in other venues across Hampshire and Wiltshire.
