Carol is always ready to help others
Radian resident, Carol McCall was shortlisted for a prestigious Tenant of the Year award. Carol, who lives in Sawyers Close, Windsor was nominated for the TPAS (Tenant Participation Advisory Service) Awards, southern region.
Carol, who has been involved with Radian and before it, Windsor Housing for the last 15 years, is now the Vice Chair of the Thames Area panel. She sits on the Radian Residents’ Council, is a founding member of, and now chairs, Sawyers Close Residents’ Association and sits on numerous boards within Radian. Carol is equally involved in her local community, undertaking numerous voluntary roles.
Rachel Salter, Thames Community Involvement Team Leader said: “We were thrilled that Carol was shortlisted for this award. We are very proud of her and grateful to her for the time, commitment and passion that she gives to her roles at Radian. She is a real inspiration to us, so this recognition of her achievement is brilliant.”
Carol’s commitment to her local community through her involvement with Radian, as a member of other local groups and her local volunteering has made a real and positive impact. Through the projects and groups with which Carol has been involved, anti-social behaviour (ASB) has been reduced, young and older residents have been provided with new opportunities and activities and rubble-strewn ground has been replaced with new gardens. As a result, the community is closer and stronger.
As well as committing significant time to helping Radian improve its services to its residents, Carol is a community crime fighter, the Vice Chair of the local youth club management committee and a volunteer for St John’s Ambulance. Since Carol helped to start Sawyers Close Residents’ Association, the ASB on the estate has been reduced by 70%.
In the end Carol did not win the award – but to us and her community… she is a real winner! Congratulations Carol.
