Residents of Paulsgrove, Portsmouth enjoyed a fun-packed street party with a difference in April. Besides having fun celebrating the Royal Wedding, they raised money for a charity close to the hearts of the local community as well as to Princes William and Harry – Help for Heroes.
Organisers Charmaine Crockett, Natasha Green and Louise Chewter were overwhelmed by the support and generosity of local residents, businesses who donated fabulous prizes for the raffle, schools and the Police and Fire Services. Radian provided funding for refreshments including rolls, burgers and soft drinks.
Throughout the afternoon, families and friends enjoyed food, games and other activities including a car wash organised by the children. Overall the residents raised over £1,400.
“We couldn’t have imagined it would go as well as it did. We were overwhelmed,” said a delighted Charmaine.
