Hello and welcome to the brand new edition of R Magazine. Residents chose the new look during a brainstorming day when they gave lots of constructive comments and ideas for future articles.
A big concern was we’ve never had enough room for all the residents’articles and photos we receive. We’ve been very conscious how disappointing this is when people have taken the time and trouble to send in articles.
So R Magazine is going online as well as coming out in print version once a quarter. The web version will be much more up to date. We’ll “put up” news as and when we receive it. So you won’t have to wait for possibly weeks, even months, before you can read a story.
We’re working to make the on-line R Magazine inter-active. You’ll be able to log in to make comments on stories. Others can then see what you’ve said. We’re going to ask you to score articles so that we can better discover the kind of articles that interest you.
But, importantly, we’ll still send hard copies by post to those of you who want to receive it that way. A Bristol-based design company called Workbrands are producing our new R Magazine alongside the website version. They were chosen by residents and staff.
A big thank you to the many of you who suggested a title for our magazine and also to those who voted.
The clear winner was R Magazine. Congratulations to Sarah Readings from Basingstoke who won the draw and will be receiving a £50 voucher.
A warm thanks to everyone who sent in their ideas and choices.
