Millbrook Community Fun Day
On Wednesday 25th August Swaythling Housing Society held a Community Fun Day in partnership with The Windrush Road General Committee and Southampton City Council. The main aim of the day was to allow residents of the local community the opportunity to have fun and create a sense of ‘one big community’ as well as improving relations between all residents. Over 200 people from the local community were invited to the event including people whose properties surrounded the venue as well as Swaythling residents living in Millbrook.
Members of staff from Swaythling Housing were available to offer information, support and guidance to any resident who required our services including queries about housing, issues with anti-social behaviour as well as telling us their ideas for future community events.
Helen Humphries, Community Project Worker at Swaythling, who helped to jointly plan and organise the event said “We’re really pleased with the turnout especially considering the weather and having to move the event inside. We would really like to work with local agencies again to host another event next year. We’ll be keeping our fingers crossed for better weather next time.”
