Junior PCSO Cookery Exchange

Junior PCSO cookery exchange in Northam and Chapel

During Spring half term Swaythling, the Police and Junior Police Community Support Officers (PCSOs) got together with the International Cookery Group for a cookery lesson.

The international cookery group was set up by Swaythling and Southampton City Council in 2006. Since then they have produced a cook book and are starting to branch out to other groups in Southampton to show them how to cook. The women meet monthly to show each other how to cook their dishes.

Their most recent venture was to teach the Junior PCSOs cooking skills. The children made simple recipes such as jacket potatoes, pasta salads, fruit kebabs and 'mad cups'. They were given recipe cards to take home and we've received feedback that some have tried the recipes at home.

If you would like the international cookery exchange to visit your area or are interested in joining please contact Jade at Swaythling on 023 8062 8170 or email
