Goodbye Lucy

Goodbye Lucy

Goodbye_Lucy

It was one of those “I’m not crying, it’s just something in my eye” moments for residents and Lucy Rothwell, Scheme Manager, at Gloucester Court, Petersfield. Residents laid on
a barbecue for Lucy as she was moving on after seven years.

Bernard Knight, aged 93, wrote a poem in her honour but because Bernard is visually impaired, his friend, John Andrews, read it for him, before residents presented Lucy with gifts. Lucy had got wind of Bernard’s poem, so she surprised everyone with one of her own to thank everyone.

One resident said: “Lucy and the scheme have been our salvation, giving my husband and I security and companionship during our later years. We’ve never regretted our move and Lucy has been a major reason for this. We’ll be very sorry to see her go.”
