First families move into new development
The first phase of new homes at the former Vosper Thornycroft site on Woolston Riverside have now been completed.
Private sale units and the first phase of 59 affordable homes have now been handed over. Radian have been working in partnership with the HCA, Crest Nicholson, Spectrum Housing Group and Southampton City Council to deliver the properties, and families are now living in their new homes on Victoria Road.
All homes at Centenary Quay will be connected to a new on-site CHP energy centre which will provide energy efficient heating, hot water and power for all residents and will help to reduce harmful emissions.
The new homes are served by a new road that re-directs local traffic away from Victoria Road and through the Centenary Quay site, helping to connect the new community with the established one. As this first phase progresses, the next two phases are likely to go through the planning process at the end of this year. Phase 2 will include more homes along with a new library and crèche.
