Children talk to the Mayor at Chapel

On Friday 3rd June, Carol Cunio Mayor of Southampton, came along and chatted to children and their parents in Chapel.  The children had chosen the name for the Play Park and this was a big day for them.  The names were put up near both entrances.  A picnic tea was laid on and there were toys and games for the youngest to play with.  Supported by Hyde Housing and the local PCSO's for Chapel, everyone had a great time.  So overwhelmed was one young resident with the importance of talking to the Mayor, he asked her is she was the Queen!

The Mayor took a walk around the development with Ian Howarth, Assistant Director of Swaythling. As it was the first time she had seen it, she found it interesting and said she was very impressed with it.
