Southampton celebrated Black History Month with a series of events and displays, starting with its launch on 1 October 2008 at Southampton Art Gallery.
Swaythling was proud to support this successful annual event.
Black History Month focuses on:
- Promoting knowledge of black history and experience
- Disseminating information on positive black contributions to British society
- Heightening confidence and awareness of black people in their cultural heritage
