Major overhaul for Radian’s biggest block of flats
Extensive work to renew and improve electrics, water tanks, corridor fire doors and improving the heating system is almost completed at Burma House, Mansbridge in Southampton – Radian’s biggest block of flats..
The work cost £1,000,000 has taken six months and 57 residents had to move out of their homes while the job was being done.
Tenant Liaison Officer Mel Mines would like to thank residents for their help and co-operation during the repair project: “It must have been really difficult up heaving their lives for five weeks,” she said. “But people were great.”
Mel worked out a care plan for everyone at Burma House. She even offered a packing service and sorted out landlines and broadband. The only help Mel couldn’t offer was redirecting mail. Resident Joe O’Shea said he is very happy with the result: “It’s so much quieter for us all,” he commented.
