AFC Bournemouth requested funding from Swaythling Housing Society's Community Fund. They received a grant for £500 to supply coaching equipment, coaching fees, venue hire and delivery of multi sports sessions to residents in the Beaufort Park area.
Lynette Allen visited one session to talk to the kids attending. They all agreed they loved the sessions and the coaches were brilliant.
Brothers Phillip 13, Ben 11 and Alex 10 from Kingfisher Close said, "its great, you get to learn new skills, it also gives us something to do in the school holiday". Their dad Jim, a single parent agrees, he said "its good to know the boys are being supervised and taking part in a good activity. I need to know they are safe and not getting into trouble so this is wonderful". The football coach agreed that the fourteen kids involved all worked well together; he also said that extra kids were joining in the sessions as the day went on.
The football club is hoping to secure some more funds to put on additional sessions.
