On October 19th 2009 agencies and residents walked around the Beaufort Park area and took part in a litter pick. The residents wanted to help make the area tidier by working together and having a little bit of fun at the same time.

The litter pick was planned by residents and agencies who support the area following a successful tidy up day in May 2009 when two skips were filled with rubbish.

Items that were collected on this latest litter pick included such things as cans, bottles sweet wrappers and cigarette butts.  Doug Holder, chair of local resident association NAPRA said, "It makes you feel good to be helping to keep our own area tidy".

Local residents Julie, her daughter Kate aged 10, and Samantha Rapley and her children Chelsea aged 5 and Lewis aged 3 all helped.  They agreed it was good to get the children involved and said how much they enjoyed it! They also said how much nicer the area looked after the tidy up and hoped other residents would help to keep it that way,
