Radian is spending £500,000 over six months on major renovation works at Burma House at Mansbridge in Southampton.
The move means that residents from 57 flats have had to move out of their homes into especially set-aside flats. Work is being done over five phases taking five weeks apiece.
Mel Mines, Tenant Liaison Officer, worked out an individual care plan with each resident to make sure everything went as smoothly as possible. “We offered a packing service and sorted out their landlines and broadband,” Mel explained. “People only had to redirect their mail because we did the rest.”
Work includes renewing electrics, water tanks, corridor fire doors and improving the heating system. The work is scheduled to be finished by the end of September. We’ll update you in our next edition of R Magazine.
